The Auto Tuner is where players go to tune their Aquatic Vehicles. Here you can also change the appearance of the vehicles. Note, these options are only possible if you own the vehicle, thus it won't work on stolen vehicles or on a test drive. There is a total of 1 Boat Tuner in the game currently.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 Ferrari Tuner
As you drive around, you can quickly switch to another car you see. (In Test Drive, we had to go to a dealership to either test out a car or win enough points to buy a car.) As you unlock rewards in the game, new vehicles start appearing on the road. After playing for about six hours, we finally unlocked the one we wanted to test: a Dodge HD 2500 Laramie Longhorn.
As with Forza 4, there is no launch control mode for the SLS in the game. In the real car, you can press down on the brake, press the gas pedal (which revs the engine to about 3000RPM and prepares the car for launch), and release the brake. Doing this in the game only makes the redline go up all the way, but does not add any punch. The 0-to-60 test in the real and virtual cars matched up almost precisely at just under 4 seconds. The SLS felt fun to drive in the game, but seemed to lack some power.
For playing you can create a Play Disk. This saves the biggest part of the disk juggling. What is more is that with a Play Disk you can freely combine cars and tracks as is enjoyable. So you can also drive with the fastest car against the "slowest ride" on different tracks although they are containd on different Car Disks and Challenge Disks. Test Drive 2 is, however, a total nightmare concerning the diskettes. Already at the start you need to insert the Master Disk, then the Car Disk, then the Scenery Disk and then again the Master Disk. As this was not already enough for the programmers the programme even requires the corresponding disk again when choosing the car or the track. (Except for when you set at "Install" the menu points "Cardisk", "Scenerydisk" and "Playdisk" to "No", see "The different types of disks").
